I am a college student wanting to invest about $1000 in a company. I will not be active really in my trading. What will be the cheapest easiest and reliable company to use? As well besides the trading fees what other fees might I incur?

If you are investing only $1000. Then you are probably better off investing it in a low-management-fee mutual fund through your bank.

Because this is one of the cheapest ways to invest in the stock market. And you need to do something cheap like this in order to make some profit on your small investment.

I like E-Trade, but Scottrade is also good. The only fees will be a $7 to $12 commission when you buy, and another when you sell.

Scottrade. I like them and you will not be hit with extra fees for not being active. $7 a trade, I bet you could find cheaper but may get hit with extra fees.
