I thought the girls doing what seemed like cocaine at 1:20 fit perfect with the young reckless ideals of the people at the party and the largely 80’s soundtrack
You’re kidding me, right ? Don’t you know anything of the history of the time this movie is set in. If Louis XVI and Marie Antoinette would have had MORE experience they would have been even MORE resolute in their myopic ways. The French Revolution had been percolating since the Fronde… increasing with the tyranny of Louis XIV, and achieving critical mass with the profligacy of Louis XV and his immoral Court.
Different in what way? Were the common peoples of France hungry and starving? That is fact. Was Louis and Marie misguided and plagued by inexperience? That is fact. However, your statement is unfortunately for you, incorrect! The opulence of Versailles and 18th century Royal Court life was immense and, yes, costly. Have you seen Versailles? There is no doubt it is beautiful! Probably the most beautiful building on earth but that is not my point. You fail to see the point of the movie!
Well yes, objectively. But the perspective of a spoilt noble will be different from that of a blinkered teenage girl living in an apparently dazzling foreign country, which will again be different from that of a starving peasant native. I think that’s all the film is about, and I’m sure people do get that the historical truth is different. But the aim is a film from the perspective of the lonely young woman, and anyone can be lonely, whether they’re spectacularly rich or poor.
Bull! New Order has many good songs, too many to list. I love Joy Division, but I love New Order even better. They`re both excellent bands with their own unique features. New Order and Joy Division are #1 and #2 in my book and nobody else tops them.
They were so young! I mean, she became queen when she was 17 i guess, abt this…i’m not really sure
I think they were just inexperient plp guided by bad people…
Indeed, this song is the only good song from new order! Normal, it comes from Joy Division.
RIP Ian.
Quand à ton histoire de gâteau Tonton 6969. Sache qu’elle ne l’a jamais dit !
God! Louis was such a prude! And Marie was such a hott! The secret romance with the young Swedish count was much more meaningful… I felt sorry for her.
HAhahahAHAHAhAHHA
do you think she really said that??
I dont know, maybe yeah, but, there was a lot of people making the french people go crazy! maybe they told the people the queen said that to make them angrier….i dont know…
lol

Well… What I find more shicking is that she didn’t show how the poeple suffered under ridiculous taxes and opression, and censorship.

Well, what’s for sure, is that she was the worst queen ever (even if I’m sure she wasn’t a mean person).
