The best approach is to get an accountant or lawyer to form a company for you which can be owned by your Indian company. Last I checked it cost A$1,500 to form a new company but that can be done cheaper if you shop around.
You do have a choice of registering your company in Australia via the “doing business as” method but you may not have name protection.
I currently own business in Australia and New Zealand and have a new one starting up for a new product I will import. If you elaborate on your requirements I may be able to assist further or point you in the right direction. Maybe you can end up helping me with my new product in India?
I hope I have helped.

It is registered as an Australian company, despite having a history elsewhere. It can be listed as a subsidiary of tghe established company from India, but is considered and listed as Australian to do business from within there.
